  • Unit 2: Co-ordinate Geometry – equation of straight line in various standard form, intersection of two straight line, angle between two line, parallel and perpendicular line, perpendicular distance formula, general equation of a circle and its characteristic, to find the equation of circle given Ex. Centre and radius, 3 point lying on it and, co-ordinate of end point of a diameter, definition of conic there is standard equation, problem on conic when there foci,
  • Unit 3: Algebracomplex number: definition, real and imaginary part of a complex number, polar and cartesian representation of a complex number and its conversion from one form to other, conjugate of complex number module and amplitude of complex number, Edison subtraction multiplication and division of complex number, demoivres theorem and its application.
  • Partial fraction: definition of polynomial function proper and improper fraelions and definition of partial fraction. To resolve proper function into partial fraction with denominator containing non repeated liner factor.
  • Permutation combination: definition of factorial notation, introduction of permutation and combination
  • Binomial theorem: binomial theorem for positive integral index, binomial theorem for any index first and second binomial approximation with application to engineering problem.
  • Determinant and matrices: elementary properties of determinant up to 3rd order consistency of equations Crammar rules, algebra of matrices, transpose of matrix. Adjoint of matrix, inverse of matrix
